It’s that time again: Wedding Album Review! It’s time to chat with a couple about their destination wedding experience and get an insider’s view on what made it meaningful, fun, and extraordinary.

I ask the questions, and they provide photos and memories.

This is Mr. and Mrs. Wickett (better known as Mike Wickett and Leigh McNabb) from Kansas City, MO. They got married at the sexy SLS Las Vegas on May 2017. I promise you’re going to love this wedding.

Will: Why did you choose a destination wedding?

The Wickett’s: Fun and affordable

Will: How many attendees did you have? What kind of experience did you envision your guests having?

The Wickett’s: Around 100. They all had fun. That was the goal!

Will: What was one part of planning your wedding that you knew you couldn’t have done alone? How did having a Destination Wedding Specialist help with that?

The Wickett’s: Dealing with the onsite staff. I had the best – Will!

Will: What piece of advice would you give to couples who are just starting the planning process?

The Wickett’s: Don’t do it alone. You’ll drive yourself nuts.

Will: What’s one “extra” you’re super glad you splurged on? What surprised you the most about your wedding?

The Wickett’s: The photographer and the keg of Miller Lite. What surprised us the most was how smoothly it went.

Will: If you could choose three words to describe your wedding, what would they be?

Will: What is your favorite memory from your big day?

The Wickett’s: Everyone being together – welcome reception, wedding, reception pool party and more. We capped it off with an AMAZING helicopter ride around the city.

I am grateful to Mike and Leigh for taking the time to share these memories with me and allowing me to be a part of the planning and their special wedding day, which I shall always remember as a fond memory of my first time in Las Vegas.

As I worked on this feature, I could not help but laugh at our virtual meetings over beers (I miss those!) while we adjusted the plan from the original destination choice to Las Vegas. Are you surprised that we had to special order a keg of beer?
